Executive functions are a set of mental processes that helps us link past experience with present actions. Executive functions are needed in daily life. Doing activities such as planning, organizing, being attentive, managing time & space all require executive functions.

Key things to remember:

  • Each child varies in developing Executive Functions
  • Children with Learning Difficulties (LD) & Attention Issues (ADHD) might struggle with these skills
  • Children with LD & ADHD will need support to compensate for their struggles
